Retrospective Audits
Most contracts applied by Suppliers are simple in their format and generally show fixed price options for:
- Day & Night Unit Charges.
- Monthly Standing Charges.
- Availability Charges.
- Taxes.
What many companies do not realise is that virtually all of these prices have little or nothing to do with your actual Supplier, who are simply used as an administrative vehicle through which all other companies involved in bringing energy to site are paid.

Around 95% of costs applied to an energy invoice are derived from third-party charges, passed through as part of the contract unit rates and standing charges to the customer. However, as this information is obtained and compiled from different companies, who use different systems, procedures and databases, it is inevitable that errors will occur that result in overcharges being applied to customer invoices.
Simply checking a bill to see if contract costs have been applied correctly is therefore totally inadequate because those costs will have been "built in" to the contract rates at the point of tender.

- Analysing current and historical costs applied to contracts.
- Breaking down each cost on a site by site basis.
- Establishing costs specific to each meter and building up the true cost based upon factual information.
On accounts with errors, we have found that an average of between 5 - 10% of gross annual costs can be recovered due to overcharges. This is monies levied by Suppliers for what they believe are the correct costs required for "pass through" services. It is no benefit or financial value to Suppliers to ensure that correct charges are applied.
